Day 1️⃣6️⃣

My taste buds have either heightened or are more aware of the foods I’m eating. Perhaps because I haven’t been consuming flavors-sugars, salt, spices, etc. My nose has also distinguished certain scents that influence the mind. I swear, I can smell people’s fragrance from yards away, or if a colleague opens their tupperware at their cubicle ready to eat, I’ll get a whiff of his lunch within seconds. This does put a damper when I smell my favorite foods, but I continue to put my mind elsewhere. This morning when I had my apple for breakfast, I was able to decipher certain flavors within that Honeycrisp. They’re classified to be within medium to large in size. Honeycrisp skin is thin, can be easily bruised & semi-glossy. As I was eating the fruit, my mouth was able to determine different flavors across the skin. The more on the red shades of the apple, the sweeter it tastes. Moving towards the lighter, yellowish tones, I could sense the sweetness transformed into a subtle tangy flavor. The other interesting thing was the bruising. Usually, I cannot tell when an apple is bruised simply by looking at its beautiful colors. Even light bruising is hard to see right through the skin, however, my tongue picked it up immediately before turning into its darker shade. It’s almost as if tasting different regions that the fruit has been through. If I could blindfold myself, open a bottle of red wine, aerate it and taste, I can probably get aroma hints. Then I’ll be able to tell which type of grape it would be. Or maybe I’d overthink it and add more flavors than it actually has.

Today’s food-

9:15am - 1 apple.
4:00pm – 7 cups of broccoli florets.
7:00 pm – 1 cup of broccoli.

For a total = about 340 calories.

Gym for 45min on the cycle machine.
